Random passwords you can trust

People are bad at inventing random passwords: we pick names, dates and patterns that attackers guess first. This generator uses your browser’s cryptographic random number generator, the same kind used for encryption, so every character is truly unpredictable.

Nothing is stored or sent. Close the page and the password exists only where you pasted it.

Frequently asked questions

Is the password sent anywhere?

No. It’s created in your browser with your device’s secure random number generator and never leaves your screen.

How long should a password be?

At least 12 characters, and 16 or more for important accounts like email and banking. Length adds more strength than symbols do.

What does the strength bar measure?

Entropy: how many guesses an attacker would need. Above 80 bits is strong; above 100 bits is very strong.

Should I reuse a strong password?

No. Use a different password for each account and store them in a password manager, so one leak doesn’t unlock everything.
